Edition of 500 + 25 APs decks

Aaron Johnson has collaborated with Copenhagen based Playing Card Company SMALL WONDER on an edition of 500 + 25 AP decks of poker sized playing cards named “Say Hello To My Little Friends”.

Number cards feature four sets of characters drawn by Aaron specifically for the edition. 

Court cards feature a curated selection of previous paintings, grouped to fit the respective labels of Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Jokers. 

Each deck comes packaged in a sturdy L-CASE keeping the edition protected 

Each five decks come packaged in a sturdy 5-pack collectors box.

Edition numbers are assigned at random.

“Like a card game, painting can be a mix of chance, skill, and strategy. In my paintings I work with fluid pours and wild splashes of paint, gambling with unpredictability and chance. For this deck I selected from my favorite portrait paintings characters to adorn the royal cards. I made drawings anthropomorphizing the club/spade/heart/diamond symbols into impish little creatures. Small Wonder editions are functional art, an edition that has more life than just a print hanging on the wall, and people can engage with my work in a very active and personal way through playing with this deck. Say hello to my little friends!” - AARON JOHNSON
