Knots

Quantity

Limited edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist.

‘Knots’ by En Iwamura is a gold foil emboss and clear foil deboss on paper. The gold foil embossing replicates the line work used on En Iwamura's sculptures, creating a unique optical effect when viewed from different angles. This is the first two-dimensional edition that En Iwamura has created.

"I hope to make a sculpture the same scale as 'Knots' one day. An unfamiliar object that suddenly appears in the middle of town, discovered by the people who live there. I always dream to achieve that unfamiliar encounter with my work." – En Iwamura.

En Iwamura makes ceramic sculptures, paintings and drawings that are inspired by a mix of historical and contemporary influences, such as manga, comic books, anime and ancient Japanese tomb figures.
