'La nuit est une femme à barbe' presents a new series of works in which Éric Croes reveals the full extent of his imagination and technical prowess. Golems, devils, centaurs, bearded women and other mythical and hybrid figures populate the artist’s universe and remind us that mystery always has many sides. Using black or red clay, Croes plays with contrasting enamels to create fantastic and often erotic creatures, who coalesce, love and desire each other, copulate or cohabit, throwing light on their complexity, oscillating between pleasure and sin.
