Ugo Rondinone is a renowned mixed-media artist who lives and works in New York. Over the past twenty years, he has been exploring the figure of the contemporary artist and his relation to the world, but also the relation between the viewer and the artwork, whether the work induces a contemplation, reverie, or meditation. He represented Switzerland at the 52nd Venice Biennale and curated the exhibition The Third Mind at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris in 2007. Recent solo shows include, your age my age and the age of the rainbow, The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow (2017); let’s start this day again, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati (2017); every time the sun comes up, Place Vendome, Paris (2016); girono d’oro + notti d’argento, Mercati die Traiano, Rome (2016); becoming soil, Carre d’Art, Nîmes (2016); vocabulary of solitude, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam (2016); Ugo Rondinone: I ♥︎ John Giorno, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2015), among others.
