Richard Prince (born in 1949 in Panama Canal Zone, USA) has been working as an artist since the 1970s; a member of the influential Pictures Generation, he worked alongside other artists to expand the scope of conceptual photography through the use of appropriation and rephotography. Prince takes aim at the vulgar, revealing culture’s indiscretions—misogyny, consumerism, exhibitionism and idealized desire.
Features ‘Footnote to Coincidence’, a text by Jeff Rian.
This book is published in conjunction with the exhibition 'New Figures', held at Almine Rech Paris, from October 20 to December 20, 2014.
