Quantity

On the occasion of Thu-Van Tran's third solo exhibition with the gallery 'In spring, ghosts return' — currently on view at Almine Rech New York, Tribeca, Almine Rech Editions is thrilled to present Rainbow Herbicides, the first limited edition lithograph in collaboration with the artist.

Vietnamese artist Thu-Van Tran reflects on the colonial history of French Indochina and the intersections of identity and culture. Her work attempts to visually deconstruct an insidious language, as seen in her series 'Rainbow Herbicides,' where small multi-colored spurts of paint emerge. This series critiques the oxymoronic term used to describe herbicides’ toxic effects, turning the page on misrepresentations of the past.

This series of lithographs is limited to 12 copies and 5 Artist Proofs has been produced in Paris on a Voirin press in collaboration with the renowned Maître d'Art Stéphane Guilbaud, who has worked in the past with artists such as Arman, Zao Wou Ki, Nicky de Saint Phalle and Tinguely.
