Erik Lindman (born in 1985 in New York, USA) often uses anonymous found surfaces as compositional elements: found sheets of painted loan, fragments of plastic armatures, or marred shards of stainless steel are joined, glued, and screwed together, initiating a cascade of decisions that ultimately articulate value and attention.
Features texts by Bob Nicas ‘Adhered to Canvas’ and Norman Rosenthal ‘Meaningful Abstractions’, Erik Lindman ‘Paintings: 2008 – 2013, On Painting’ and an interview of Erik Lindman by Nicolas Trembley.
