...view from the Gods showcases works made since 2017, the year Allen Jones turned eighty. The paintings and sculptures exhibited in ‘From the Gods’ (Almine Rech Paris, Turenne, April 26 to May 25, 2024) illustrate a bold new direction in the artist’s oeuvre. Intrinsically linked to his earlier Pop compositions in their subject matter and audacious eroticism, these recent works explore the possibilities of interaction between sculpture and painting. Jones’ lifelong dedication to depicting the human form is taken to new heights with the incorporation of technology like 3D animation in works such as Video (2023). A relentless innovator, Jones continues to push the limits of his own artistic imagination, returning to the same themes with a constantly renewed perspective. The result is work that is self-referential but never nostalgic, coherent but never dated.

This catalog is published in conjunction with the exhibition ‘From the Gods’ by Allen Jones, held at Almine Rech Paris, Turenne, from April 26 to May 25, 2024.
