The Institut Giacometti is presenting a dialogue between the works of Lebanese visual artist and video artist Ali Cherri and those of Alberto Giacometti.

Sharing with Giacometti a particular interest in the representation of the human figure, the artist will explore the notion of ‘envisagement’, a polysemous term referring both to the action of envisaging something and to the evocation of the face found in literature.

This double meaning is strongly echoed in Giacometti's sculptures and paintings, in which the human face is both the subject of a ceaseless search and a work in progress.

The exhibition features a number of previously unseen works by Ali Cherri, which resonate with the rich selection of paintings, sculptures and drawings by Alberto Giacometti.
