Launch | Ewa Juszkiewicz's new limited edition print
Almine Rech Editions is thrilled to present 'Untitled (after François Gérard)', the third limited edition print in collaboration with Ewa Juszkiewicz, created on the occasion of the artist’s solo exhibition 'Locks with Leaves and Swelling Buds’, opening at Palazzo Cavanis in Venice this Saturday, April 20, 2024. This limited edition print will be available on April 19, 2023 at 5PM CEST.
Curated by Guillermo Solana, the show is a collateral Event of the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia and is organized by FABA (Fundación Almine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso) and supported by Almine Rech.
By covering the face of historical portraits, Juszkiewicz challenges the very essence of this genre: she destroys the portrait as such. Her paintings are no longer portraits of anyone in particular, but representations of the condition of women under patriarchy.
