Inès Longevial - Visage Théâtre

Includes drawings and poems written by Inès Longevial.

Portraiture has been a major preoccupation of Inès Longevial’s work since she first began creating art. This book brings together a collection of the artist’s poetry with a series of works on paper, exploring the face and all its kaleidoscopic possibilities.

Using alcohol-based markers and ink, oil monotype, and collage, Longevial created these smaller scale pieces between 2024 and 2025.  A selection of the works will be included in the exhibition “Skin of a Storm”, held at Almine Rech New York, Tribeca, from June 26 to August 1, 2025.

“The face is a theatre, a stage where our truths and our rebellions are performed, our joys and our sorrows played out.
This book is for all those who refuse to bow under the weight of others’ gaze.
It is a silent cry, yet one that bursts forth: it is time to return to our faces their defiance, their light.
To look at faces is to choose peace.”
