On the occasion of 'Between Dogs and Wolves,' Alexandre Lenoir's sixth solo exhibition with the gallery, Almine Rech Editions is pleased to present the first monograph on the artist.

Lenoir's work explores the versatility of the painted image from reworked personal photographs. The landscapes or characters gradually become emblematic shapes, a poetic elsewhere as familiar as a dream, a myth, or a memory, where abstraction meets reality. Its variations on evocative forms reveal themselves without allowing us to fully anticipate the final image. This 208-page volume explores the artist's work at the boundary between figuration and abstraction. Lenoir’s original techniques are examined, revealing how they leave ample room for interpretation.
