Chris Succo – Hood Ornament

by Chris Succo

25.00

For his second album, Hood Ornament, Chris Succo collaborated with his former
bandmates Deniz Akad on drums and Christopher Jakobi on bass. Together they create a thick, haunting sound reminiscent of post-punk or garage rock.
Keeping the raw, intuitive spirit of Chris’s first album Nude Landscape,
Hood Ornament was recorded and mixed by Ralv Milberg, known for his mastery in capturing the live sound of a band, at Milberg Studios in Stuttgart.
The band co-wrote most of the songs in a week-long session
with Chris then writing impromptu lyrics in the studio inspired by
poetry and books he brought and mixed with cultural references and personal experiences. Already the chanting opener, titled after a line from Christian Kracht’s Eurotrash, sets the tone for the title track Hood Ornament which lyrically serves as a kind of introduction to the album.
